World Poker Tour Texas Holdem Tournaments: World Poker Challenge

Hosted by the majestic Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno, the World Poker Challenge is one of the serious attractions in the state of Nevada. This poker challenge is included in the World Poker Tour's selection of outstanding and world class Texas Holdem tournaments. It has greatly contributed to the success of poker all over the world.

During the inaugural year for the World Poker Tour, it has already included the World Poker Challenge in a serious effort to draw a huge following from local and international poker aficionados. The debut season featured a final table cast that includes Ron Rose, Paul Magriel, and Tony Lee. Mark Edwards, Cal Dykes, and T. J. Cloutier were also present to compete. In the end, better play and strategy execution allowed Rose to outlast Dykes for the win.

The second year of the World Poker Challenge was also a successful one. The Texas Holdem tournament featured Young Phan, Peter Muller, and Harry Knop. Mike Kinney, Paul Clark, and Tony Bloom also made it to the final table of this prestigious event. Kinney used his far better experience in the game to steal the win from fellow finalist Clark.

The third season was just as exciting. With the World Poker Tour manifesting its seriousness to showcase world class quality competitions, it featured another exciting year for the Texas Holdem tournament. This time an entirely new set of cast reached the final table for the ultimate poker showdown. Arnold Spee, Blair Rodman, and Phil Ivey spearheaded the competition. Meanwhile, Mark Chapic, Russ Carlson, and Michael Yoshino posed a great challenge against their top-rated opponents. In the final round, it was Spee who emerged triumphant over Rodman.

In the fourth season of the World Poker Challenge, the event became much bigger. With the value of the pot projected at more than $1 million, the remaining participants did their best to outwit their opponents. Jason Stern, Tom Schneider, and Mike Simon were among the contenders in this grueling poker competition. Greg Mueller, Jonas Norrman, and Barry Greenstein were also present to experience the event. In the end, the brilliant play of Simon helped him win the championship.

The fifth year proved to be different for the World Poker Challenge. Danny Wong, J. C. Tran, and Mark Seif were among the heavily favored Texas Holdem tournament participants. David Pham, John Hom, and Juan Carlos Alvarado were ready to give their opponents a very good fight. In the end, the much superior skills of Tran helped him win over Alvarado.
